Suffering from cricket.................

We had an early pack up today. Hurrah! It is Indo-Pak match. We all are dedicated patriots of our motherland from the last week or so. Cricket enlightens our inner vision of unity, integrity and what not. It’s been a week or so that many of my kith and kins were getting goose bumps with the very thought of our loving country defeating the adorable rival. Shedding all the apprehensions I too started off on a positive note. Like always we will surely win (optimism).
Everyone in India has got their own personal expertise on the Cricket. They know it better that how the behaviour of pitch is going to change, what the batsman must be thinking, what does the bowler’s expression mean and how the hell that umpire could go biased with the player. (Thank god to the option of review now!!). So without getting too much vague, let’s take a u turn to the topic. We all are excited, we all are hopeful and for a day at least we are geared up for celebration and a feeling of ecstasy.  At times one gets a feeling that this game has the power to take the whole country towards a verge of some revolution. It has got the magnetic power to conquer you and your inhibitions as well. (I know, might be exaggeration but I did think so!!). In a sense it inculcates a feeling of unity and togetherness every now and then, whenever we are caught up diseases varying from diplomacy, hypocrisy, cowardice or may be some fraudulence at times.
While summing up, the bottom line remains that under any given situation, it’s always a pleasure to say “Just taking an off yaar, I am suffering from cricket and thank god I don’t need to be cured”.

Attributes of a writer.

In the lousy noon, as I was busy with winding up my part of work, going through the files to check , almost a mini bomb exploded. I mean almost.
A kind colleague of mine was generous enough to put her grammatical skills into action to  put my lame grey cells to work. Not sure whether it was a breeze or a heat burst. But somehow that single word managed to get me out of the post lunch drowsy feel.
"GOVERNMENTED" .....yes I know the red lines beneath the word itself cried out the disaster. But how come the "ED" came along? After a minute's pondering, I was able to crack the puzzle. Yes!!! it was the past tense of our very own government. (Using simple past is one among the  zillion th guideline point at our work as content developers). I laughed it off on a light note thinking that poor fella! might have just realized that the Government indeed has expired long back.
I am not here to go gaga over the sanctity that English language holds but still down the line, I am left wondering where were we heading. A writer is meant to be literally correct at least for Christ's sake. One can't afford to do mockery of our beloved Godess Saraswati all the time. What it takes to be a writer? A question which I am leaving for some other time. But yes one thing which I can swear on is definitely butchering the language for the sake of bread and butter might not work all the time.
Closing the brief insight to what I think, at a positive note:
"By ignorance we mistake, and by mistake we learn".
