Identity

With deafening laughter and threatening voice,
He asked "Who are you?", "Where do you belong?"
Tremble voice: "I am the downtrodden one, who lives in the dirty pavements"
Left for experiencing nothingness sans agitation,
A one who is forbidden to a good night and a share of sweet dreams,
Waiting more and more for a kind visage,
Alas! each day leaves with never ending pangs and screams...
I let you exploit me, to crucify my tomorrow,
Held your promise of bright future alongside the sorrows,
You always had something to take and meagre to offer,
I belong to you and each one who dwells in comfort because of my hardships,
Call me a labour, toiler or a slave,
Bleed me to death with your coward whips,
At last the mockery must die, I leave like a martyr,
To your decayed rule; mark my last good bye.

Footsteps of Revolution

If we closely study Indian government’s state of affairs in the current scenario, then we can surely say that India is leading towards the verge of a civil revolution, taking little steps, within the strata of the corrupt society.
In realistic terms, corruption is the most threatening factor amongst all the other ones like poverty, illiteracy for the growth of a country. Corruption can destroy the development of country on a wider level which would lead to the damage of country’s resources as well as people’s faith in the so called rubber stamp government.
Every now and then, the country is caught up in one or the other scam. Be it CWG, 2G or ISRO Spectrum scam, it is the common man who ends up paying for all the loses covered under the said scams. India is developing in terms of economy, infrastructure, education, technology but the demon of corruption is making the future of the country blurred and shattered. While looking at inflation it is quite clear that the government had failed on the face in setting balances between supply and demand of commodities on which the economy rests.
The root cause for corruption getting mightier is commendable contribution of the corrupt officers, who are handling high posts and are bestowed with strong connections with the help of our very own elected politicians.
People like Anna Hazare, Medha Patkar dared to raise their voice against the rotten government system and it does evoke a ray of hope among millions of Indians that may be one fine day the disease named corruption can of course be cured. India being eaten up by the corruption bug, a revolution like Tahrir Square is not an utopian concept for the country anymore.
If a civil war or a Tahrir Square like revolution is what the country is leading towards, then  it is high time for the Indian government to  curb the corruption as early so that the damage to its image could be  lesser.

Beginning

Amidst the clouds,
May be deep down in the blue ocean,
The beaming light,
Brings me out of the runic darkness

Wherever I may be,
Opening my wings in air,
Or floating in the water,
The light guided me,
How far I went, hardly matters....

Can hear the soothing lullabies,
Can see the butterflies in my dreams,
Can taste nectar of love,
This is where I belong,
This is where the heart stops beating,
This is the place, where the journey begins.
